With the continuous expansion of the company's operations, the existing organizational structure could no longer meet developmental demands, necessitating the establishment of its own technology R&D center. On June 26, 2017, CAS Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. registered and established its Beijing Branch in Zhongguancun, Haidian District, Beijing.
Currently, the Beijing Branch is concurrently headed by Yu Kuangshi, General Manager of CAS Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. The branch employs 61 staff members, including 8 senior-level professionals (with 1 recipient of the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Hundred Talents Program and 1 recipient of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee’s Thousand Youth Talents Program), 13 associate senior-level professionals, 3 postdoctoral researchers (including 1 foreign postdoctoral fellow), and 31 graduate students (master’s and doctoral candidates). The business scope of the Beijing Branch includes economic and trade consulting; technology development (e.g., CGAS Coal Gasification and Gasification Ash/Slag Treatment), promotion, transfer, and services; engineering and technological research and experimental development; technology import and export; and software development.
The establishment of the Beijing Branch (Technology R&D Center) signifies the company’s completion of its technical business division. It is tasked with advancing the R&D and commercialization of coal gasification technologies under CAS and serves as a bridge for industrializing technologies developed by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics. The branch plays a pivotal role in promoting innovation in new clean and efficient coal gasification technologies, accelerating the industrialization of achievements, and driving the company’s sustained business growth.
