On June 1st, Wang Ying, Deputy Director of the Henan Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, and her delegation visited East Hope (Sanmenxia) Aluminium Co., Ltd. to survey the plant's environmental protection work. At the gasification plant area, Wang Ying and her team gained a detailed understanding of the newly built Circulating Fluidified Bed Coal Gasifier project's production process, environmental assessment, and environmental performance upgrades. She expressed recognition for Sanmenxia Aluminium's approach of enhancing energy efficiency and reducing emissions through environmental technological upgrading. She encouraged the company to continuously consolidate the achievements of its environmental improvements and to make this project an environmental benchmark.
The Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) coal gasifier project at East Hope's gasification plant was constructed under an EPC contract by ZHGAS. It utilizes 3 units of 66,000 Nm3/h CFB gasifiers to provide heat for 5 alumina calciners. Previously, Sanmenxia Aluminium Co. produced gas using 32 two-stage gasifiers, which had drawbacks such as difficult tar treatment, high "three wastes" emissions, and low single-furnace load. The newly constructed CFB coal gasifier fundamentally resolves the pollution issues associated with tar and phenol-cyanide wastewater. Concurrently, it has achieved significant improvements in system gasification efficiency, overall energy efficiency, gasifier reliability, and the level of on-site automation.
