Recently, ZHGAS successfully signed the Circulating Fluidized Bed Gasification Project for the supporting energy facility of the SMB Winning Consortium alumina project. Located in the Bonded Industrial Park along the Konkouré River in Boké City, Boké Prefecture, Republic of Guinea, this project marks another significant breakthrough for the company in the overseas market.
As part of the supporting energy system for an annual production of 2.4 million tons of alumina, the project plans to construct four sets of 60,000 Nm3/h circulating fluidized bed clean gas production systems. The clean gas produced will be directly supplied as fuel to alumina calcination furnaces, providing a stable heat source for continuous industrial production. It serves as an indispensable energy support for the efficient and stable operation of the entire project.
As the core technological support for the project, the CGAS circulating fluidized bed coal gasification technology stands out as a preferred solution for industrial furnace fuel gas in sectors such as non-ferrous metallurgy, building materials, and glass, thanks to its economic viability, significant energy-saving benefits, and clean, environmentally friendly features. The technology boasts the following outstanding advantages:
· High Efficiency & Low Consumption: Featuring a proprietary equal-diameter upflow–downflow gasifier combined with a large-scale cyclone separator, enabling effective high-temperature solids circulation and significantly enhancing both carbon conversion and gas production efficiency.
· Flexible & Stable Operation: Rapid start-up within 30 minutes (under hot standby conditions), with a high level of automation to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
· Wide Coal Adaptability: Capable of processing a full range of coal types—from lignite to anthracite, including low-grade “three-high” coals (high ash, high moisture, high sulfur) as well as pulverized coal—allowing flexible fuel selection to reduce costs.
· Leading Energy Efficiency: Advanced technologies such as high-temperature preheating and waste heat recovery deliver industry-leading system efficiency and carbon conversion rates.
· Zero Waste Discharge: No tar, no phenols, and no wastewater; utilizes solid slag discharge and dry dust removal to ensure environmentally compliant and worry-free operation.
The technology has passed evaluation by the Environmental Development Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and technical appraisal by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. It is a nationally recognized and supported clean production technology, highly aligned with China’s green and low-carbon development strategy for fossil energy.
ZHGAS has successfully applied this technology in the construction of more than 70 large-scale circulating fluidized bed gasification units across projects such as Xinjiang Yihua, Indonesia Xiangsheng, Jinjiang Group, Eastern Hope, and Shandong Weiqiao. These projects have effectively demonstrated the broad applicability of CFB gasification technology, achieving long-term, safe, and stable operation, and earning high recognition from both industry and clients.
Looking ahead, ZHGAS will continue to advance the iterative innovation of CGAS circulating fluidized bed coal gasification technology, expand its application across a wider range of industrial scenarios, and provide customers with efficient and clean energy system solutions, thereby supporting high-quality and sustainable development in the coal chemical and related industries.
