Recently, the fifth batch of National "Little Giant" Enterprises for Specialization and Innovation was announced. CAS Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ZHGAS) successfully passed municipal, provincial, and MIIT-level evaluations, ultimately earning the title of National "Little Giant" Enterprise—the highest and most authoritative honor in China’s SME assessment system. This milestone follows ZHGAS’s recognition as a provincial/municipal "Specialized and Innovative SME" in 2020, further affirming its professional expertise and innovative capabilities.
"Specialized and Innovative SMEs" are defined by four core traits: Specialization, Refinement, Uniqueness, and Novelty. "Little Giant" enterprises represent the elite among them—pioneers focused on niche markets, with strong innovation capacity, high market share, mastery of core technologies, and exceptional quality/efficiency.
As a national high-tech enterprise co-established by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Anhui Chaohu Economic Development Zone Management Committee, ZHGAS serves as the industrial platform for the CAS Hongguang Initiative project " Industrialization of Circulating Fluidized Bed Gasification (CGAS) Technology." It bridges scientific R&D and practical applications.

Industrialized CGAS technology for coal-derived syngas and industrial gas production, deploying it across alumina, steel, glass, carbon, and coal chemical industries;
Maximized coal utilization through fly ash combustion/gasification to treat gasification residues, achieving near-total resource recovery ("eating every part of the coal");
Expanded into eco-industry, advancing harmless disposal and resource recycling for solid/hazardous waste, with projects in fixed-bed retrofitting and sludge treatment.
