Recently, CAS Hefei Coal Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "ZHGAS") signed an EPC contract with East Hope (Sanmenxia) Aluminum Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Dongfang Hope") for the construction of a gasification unit based on circulating fluidized bed (CFB) technology. The project will support the alumina calcination process by supplying clean gas from a new gasification facility.
Founded in 2003, East Hope is a joint venture between East Hope Group and SDB Trading Co., Ltd., specializing in the mining of bauxite and the production and sales of alumina.
The project is located in the Tiantan Industrial Park in Mianchi County, Sanmenxia City, Henan Province. It will involve the construction of three 66,000 Nm3/h CFB gasifiers, providing thermal energy for five alumina calciners. Once operational, the project is expected to significantly reduce gas production costs, enhance automation in the gasification process, and improve the surrounding environmental conditions.
CFB gasification technology is known for its broad coal adaptability, low energy consumption and operating cost, high overall efficiency, low emissions, and strong technical reliability. Due to its economic viability, energy-saving potential, and environmental benefits, it has been included in the Reference Technologies for the Clean and Efficient Use of Coal in the Industrial Sector, officially recognized and supported by the state.
As the industrialization platform of the CAS strategic project "Industrialization of Circulating Fluidized Bed Gasification Technology," ZHGAS has successfully demonstrated the commercial application of this technology in syngas and clean gas production. It has completed several high-quality demonstration projects with strong economic, environmental, and social benefits.
Going forward, ZHGAS will continue to promote the application of CFB gasification across various sectors, lead innovation in gasification technology, and provide clean energy solutions to support the high-quality development of the coal chemical and environmental protection industries.
