On January 7, the No. 3 circulating fluidized bed gasifier in the East Hope Coal Gasification Plant, built by CAS Hefei Coal Gasification Technology Co., Ltd., successfully passed a 168-hour performance test.
The project includes three 66,000 standard cubic meters per hour circulating fluidized bed gasifiers, which provide heat to five alumina roasting furnaces. The No. 1 and No. 2 gasifiers have been completed and are ready for commissioning. During the test operation of the No. 3 gasifier, the gas's calorific value reached 1,360 kcal/standard cubic meter, exceeding the acceptance standard.
Previously, EAST Hope used 32 two-stage coal gas generators to produce gas, facing challenges such as difficult tar treatment, high emissions of "three wastes" (waste gas, waste water, and solid waste), and low single furnace load. The newly constructed circulating fluidized bed gasifiers have solved the issues of tar and phenolic cyanide wastewater pollution, improving gasification efficiency, overall energy efficiency, gasifier reliability, and on-site automation levels.
